The nature of the gamma dielectric relaxation in diglycidyl ether Bisphenol-A (DGEBA) based epoxies

چکیده
A γ relaxation dielectric loss peak has been measured in the temperature range 113–163 K for a series of epoxy resins based on diglycidyl ether bisphenol-A (DGEBA). The network architecture examined systems were systematically altered using varied types functional modifiers featuring different groups. Analysis dependence frequency leads to radically new interpretation fundamental processes that are associated with relaxation. analysis shown process can best be described terms thermally assisted tunnelling displacement proton, termed activated tunnelling. parameters derived not only fit experimental data well, but have clear physical origin is consistent topology as expressed through glass transition temperature. maximum which such behavior observable determined and measurements. approach proposed here provides method understanding relaxations these similar systems.

Stability of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether and bisphenol F diglycidyl ether in water-based food simulants
Varnishes used for the inner coatings of food cans are often based on epoxy resins or vinylic organosols. The epoxy resins can be produced from bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol F (BPF), and these also contain bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) or bisphenol F diglycidyl ether (BFDGE) as stabilising components. These compounds may break down during storage and also by the influence of food simul...
متن کاملSimilar dielectric behaviour of polyphenylglycidyl-ether and diglycidyl-ether of bisphenol-A at glass transition temperature
In this work, the dynamics of the primary and the Johari-Goldstein (JG) processes are studied with dielectric spectroscopy. We found the relaxations at glass transition temperature in polyphenylglycidylether and diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A to be strongly correlated over a wide temperature T and pressure P range. Analysing the temperature and pressure behaviour of the and (JG) -processes...
متن کاملThermal behavior of DGEBA (Diglycidyl Ether of Bisphenol A) adhesives and its influence on the strength of joints
Adhesives, especially epoxies, are widely used as joints, repairs and corrosion protection in the petroleum onshore and offshore industry. Performance temperature is a key factor for such material. Mainly they are designed by the thermal properties but when they are in real service operation the behavior changes drastically. In this work, three different epoxy adhesives used in the offshore ind...
متن کاملBisphenol A diglycidyl ether as a potential metabolic source of bisphenol A.
Epoxy resins find widespread use as adhesives and coatings in the construction and food industries. The majority of the products are based on resins that use bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) as a precursor. This raises the question if BADGE could be a potential source of bisphenol A (BPA). The recent paper by Perez et al. (1) on the estrogenicity of BPA and some of its analogs and derivativ...
